What is a Hotel RCU?
A hotel RCU (Room Control Unit) is the embedded controller in each guest room. It receives commands from smart panels, sensors, the card reader and the hotel PMS, then drives lighting, air-conditioning, curtains, door displays and service buttons through a safe low-voltage bus.
How a Hotekey RCU works with the PMS
Each Hotekey RCU runs local control logic and reports to Hotekey Cloud, which normalises room data and pushes it to the hotel PMS. When a guest checks in, the PMS sends the room state; when the card is pulled, the RCU sets the room to energy-saving mode automatically.
Why it matters for hotel owners
- Real-time room status for housekeeping and front desk.
- Energy saving — AC and lighting follow occupancy and PMS schedule.
- One console for mixed RS-485 / KNX / BLE / Zigbee rooms.
